Brunette-specific formulas for red and brown hair. This deeply pigmented product adds deep and exotic purple colour to all degrees of purple and brown hair. Brightest results are seen on lighter browns, and more subtle jewel tones on medium to dark browns. This red counteracts warm undertones in brown hair, resulting in intense, vibrant and rich results. For the most intense results, use on colour-treated browns, browns with lightened highlights or dark purple hair.

Not to be left behind, blondes can also use it for incredibly vibrant purple colour. For the most intense results, use on bleached, light blonds, highlights or purple hair for intense results.

How to use:

After using Viral® Colorwash® at least once and had color deposited on the hair:

Option 1 – To increase depth of color: use Colorwash® continuously every time you plan on washing your hair until desired color achieved. Once color is achieved, adopt Option 2 below.

Option 2 -To maintain certain color depth: use Colorwash® and alternate with Shinewash® for added shine or Moisturewash™ for added moisture and Secret Fix Anti-Tangler after every wash to seal the cuticles, protect and seal the color and to create a protective barrier against external elements such as UV light that can distort color. Alternating with these no color shampoos will prevent the color from becoming more intense. Other professional shampoo brands can also be used.

Option 3 – To change color from existing color to darker: use appropriate darker color continuously until darker color achieved. Once reached, adopt Option 2 above.

Regardless of method, it is recommended to use an optimized conditioner such as Bonditioner® for shine or Blonditioner® for moisture. Other professional conditioners can be used but color is optimized when used with either of the two suggested.

Tip: for more intense color, apply to clean, dry hair and let it sit for several minutes before rinsing. There will be more color deposited than when applied to damp or wet hair.

 

 

FAQ

Colorwash® acts as a shampoo with gentle cleansing and clarifying and deposits extreme color at once as soon as applied to hair. Complete color deposit is achieved once the lather turns white. Colorditioner® acts as a conditioner and provides intense conditioning, strengthening and rebuilding of bonds whilst depositing color. The amount of color deposited will depend on the length of time left in the hair with more color deposited the longer it is left. Choosing depends on what delivery system you would prefer the color to be deposited onto the hair, either by shampoo or conditioner.

Start using Viral® Colorwash® right after your fresh color service. Adopt an option listed above. Continuous use adds and replenishes color, preventing color from looking washed out and faded. Use every time you want to refresh colour, intensify the shade or darken the colour.

Viral® Colorwash® gradually lightens and fades from the hair when alternated with a clear, no color shampoo like Shinewash® or Moisturewash™. The intensity and durability of the colour is dependent on the condition and porosity of the hair. More lightened hair means more intense and long-lasting color. Color remains the same if you alternate with a no color shampoo and becomes more intense without alternating.

Shinewash® and Moisturewash™ are the alternating shampoos that has been optimized to be used with Viral® Colorwash®. Other shampoos can be used but color consistency may not stay the same.

Viral® Colorwash® will not cover grey hair.

Viral® Colorwash® will not lighten dark hair. It will add extreme bold tones to pre-lightened hair and jewel-tones on darker color hair, based on selection of color.

On hair that is medium blonde or all brown color treated hair, you will see more of a jewel tone effect with Viral Colorwash®.

It is recommended to prescribe to the lightest shade in the hair. It will keep it looking richer and fresh until your next color service.

Colors are formulated to maximize color deposit on the hair while minimizing staining on hands and scalp. If your hands and scalp are dry, they may stain slightly. If you experience staining, simply wash the area with soap and water immediately after applying.

To remove color, stop using Viral Colorwash® and switch to a clarifying shampoo. The durability of the product on the hair is dependent on the condition and porosity of the hair, the intensity of the shade and how often it was used. Pastel colors (light pink, baby blue, lavender) washout quicker with clear shampoo. Bold colors (silver, yellow, teal, blue, purple, red, hot pink) will take longer to washout and you might need your hairdresser to fully remove them.
