Preparing nails for acrylic nail tips

If you have brittle nails, try regularly applying a strengthening oil. It may also be worth consulting your doctor, in case a nutritional deficiency or other health issue is to blame.

How to apply acrylic nails

To apply acrylic nails, you’ll need a suitable nail adhesive and a nail clipper or file.

Then follow these steps:

    1. Remove old nail polish
    2. Trim and file nails, buff the surfaces and push back cuticles
    3. Apply a clear top coat to protect your nails (optional but recommended)
    4. Select the correct size nail tip for each nail, and place the tips in order of application
    5. Place a dab of glue on the first acrylic nail, apply to the nail surface and press down for a few seconds
    6. Repeat for the remaining nails

Once completely dry, you can apply a nail polish of your choice, or apply a coat of clear nail varnish to give your look some added shine.

How to apply French tip nails

Unless you have an unusually steady hand, avoid buying clear nail tips for a French manicure.

White tip nails come in various shapes and sizes. They make it much, much easier to achieve a professional French manicure at home.

Keep nail tips shorter or get some length

Long or very long nails aren’t always practical. An advantage of acrylic nail tips is that they’re versatile.
